Styles Collection – C

SketchUpArtists have one of the largest collection of free SketchUp Styles available on the web. They are created by some of the very best SketchUp professionals in the world, who have freely contributed their time and skills to produce them. We hope this visual library will be a useful reference and inspiration in your future creative process.

TIP: When exporting your finished image from SketchUp, export it at a higher resolution (eg. 3000 pixels wide) rather than the screen size. This will make your lines thinner and some Styles less busy. Or you can change the way a sketchy Style might look by adjusting the size of the exported image (under the Option button in the Export window) and resizing it in an external image editor like Photoshop.

Is there a software program that can automatically give you a rendering by just feeding it the shape of the land and the various types of buildings and amenities. for example mall, hospital, commercial section residences, golf course amusement park etc?

how do i install these plugins into sketchup? I’ve downloaded the file and unzipped it but can’t find the .rb extension file. please help. i’m running sketchup 7 on mac. feel free to email it to dotmatta@hotmail.com. Thanks!

  14. admin on September 18th, 2011 6:51 pm

@ ryanmark These are not plug-ins, there are no .rb files they are .style files. They are archive files (similiar to .zip) that contain xml data files and any required image files. Unzip the distribution file (extract the contents of the .zip file) into the SU Styles folder.

  15. ryanmark on September 18th, 2011 11:29 pm

thanks for the help. i tried that but something happens during the download with the mac OS. I had to download from windows on parallels to get a file with a .style extension. the mac just gave me a folder with files, and no .style extension.

  16. David on September 19th, 2011 9:46 pm

I believe that is because the .style file is simply a zip file with the extension renamed. MacOS likely knows this and is showing you the contents of the zip /.style file.

Hi, I am using version 2014 (not pro), my operating system is windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, downloaded files styles and copy the folder styles Sketcup but I can not implement them, do not appear in the window styles program.

    thank you very much

  35. admin on September 2nd, 2014 3:40 pm

Download the Style file to your desired location. Unzip it as it is a zipped folder. Open SketchUp and go Window>Styles to open Styles. Click on Details (if you hover over the icon it will say Details) which is next to the panel which shows current Style. Then click on ‘open or create a collection’ and find the unzipped file with the Style in it. Click on it and it should appear in the panel below. If you have more than one Style in a folder they will all appear…
